Hostess Is Bringing Back Frightfully Fun Chocolate Twinkies for Halloween

Now with "s'cream" filling in the center!

Chocolate Twinkies are making a scary-good comeback.

The chocolaty Twinkies made their debut back in 2017. But this year’s batch got a festive Halloween makeover. To start, they’re packed with “s’cream” filling.

The packaging is also Halloween-themed—featuring the quintessential black-and-orange color scheme, horror font, a full moon and spooky bats. Even Twinkie the Kid, the snack’s official mascot, is toting a trick-or-treat bucket. It might be a sign that Twinkie the Kid is ready to make our list of the all-time greatest food mascots.

What Do the Chocolate Twinkies Taste Like?

The original Twinkies have a bright vanilla flavor and a soft sponge. The Chocolate Cake Twinkies, of course, have a rich, chocolaty cake with the same vanilla cream filling Twinkie fans know and love. It reminds some snack enthusiasts of a Ho Ho without the signature chocolate shell. For others, this chocolate Twinkie is the snack of the season!

Where Can You Find Chocolate Twinkies?

Chocolate Twinkies can now be found on store shelves nationwide, including Meijer, Hy-Vee and Wegmans. But they’re only here for a limited time, so stock up if you want in on the spooky sweetness.

And if you really love Hostess snack cakes and Halloween, be sure to look for the other seasonal Hostess treats, like the brown-and-orange-frosted ScaryCakes and orange-colored coconut Glo Balls. @the_spookiest_foodie found all of ’em to share on Instagram:
