How to Make Your Very Own Healthy Snickers

Updated: Nov. 18, 2022

So that means I can have them all the time now, right?

Best chocolate candy bar in my opinion? You know I’m always going to answer with the same: Snickers. It’s an absolutely delicious brick of nougat, caramel and peanuts wrapped in a blanket of milk chocolate. And while I’d like to eat them every day, it’s important to monitor our diets. That’s why healthier candy options have taken off—something to spoil the sweet tooth without causing too much harm.

Now that I’ve learned about the new healthy Snickers internet trend, I’m totally hooked. And yes, we’ve got the candy-coated scoop.

How to Make Healthy Snickers

This incredible recipe comes from TikTok user My Nguyen over at @myhealthydish, and we’re deeply in debt to her. We love a lighter comfort food, don’t you agree? It’s not the first time we’ve looked for a healthier option when a junk food craving hits, either.

Ingredients

  • Medjool dates
  • Peanut butter
  • Nuts of your choice (almond, walnuts and peanuts work)
  • Melted milk chocolate
  • Coarse salt

Directions

Step 1: Stuff your dates

Take your Medjool dates and split them down the middle without completely separating them. Inside, place the nut of your choice. My appears to use a walnut, but feel free to use whatever you feel is right. Since Snickers bars have regular peanuts, that’s probably what I’d choose. Now spread a good amount of peanut butter in your date and close up the two halves.

Step 2: Dip your dates

Take your melted milk chocolate and place it in a bowl. Using a fork, skewer or your fingers, dip each date into the melted chocolate until each is completely covered. Place them in a freezer-friendly container lined with wax paper. Sprinkle coarse white salt over the top of each.

Step 3: Freeze your dates

Place the container in the freezer for a couple of hours. Now pull out your “healthy Snickers” and enjoy to your heart’s content! Talk about the perfect healthy snack to enjoy when those junk food cravings hit, am I right? Just remember to save some to share with your friends and family!
