We all know and love Halo Top, the ice cream company that’s changed the game with high-protein, low-sugar pints of ice cream that are just as decadent, with way fewer calories. They’re loved so much that they recently became the best-selling ice cream pint in America, surpassing long-time freezer-section classics like Ben & Jerry’s and Haagen-Dazs.
What’s more, the creamery just announced SEVEN new dairy-free flavors for our lactose averse friends to enjoy, and they could not sound more yummy!
Five of the new flavors are dairy-free versions of existing offerings: Pancakes & Waffles, Birthday Cake, Candy Bar, Chocolate Almond Crunch and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. But two—Vanilla Maple and Toasted Coconut—are brand new. With flakes of toasted coconut stirred into a creamy coconut base, Toasted Coconut sounds perfect for the summer months we’re itching for, and Vanilla Maple is a step up from the classic vanilla flavor with an added sweetness from the maple.
Technically, these dairy-free flavors (along with their seven existing flavors) are frozen desserts, not ice cream, but that doesn’t make these coconut milk-based pints any less delicious.
“When we launched our original line of non-dairy flavors, we knew we wanted to expand to include even more indulgent options,” said Justin Woolverton, Halo Top CEO and Founder. “We know our fans look to us for variety and creativity in our flavors, and we want to make sure we always address those requests for our dairy-averse and vegan fans as well.”
As if Halo Top doesn’t have enough going on, they recently opened up a scoop shop in California to serve up dreamy soft-serve and dessert creations. They were also named one of the 25 Best Inventions of 2017 by TIME.
