When we think of go-to party chips, Doritos undoubtedly makes the list. From classic Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch to whatever new Doritos flavor is next, a bag of Doritos is a must-have in any pantry. But consumers with a wheat or soy allergy should be wary of a recent batch of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

Frito-Lay announced a recall of thousand of bags of Doritos over allergy concerns due to cross-contamination. This comes right on the heels of another recall over allergy concerns affecting classic Lays chips.

What Caused the Doritos Recall?

According to the announcement, about 7,000 bags of Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Chips contain undeclared soy and wheat ingredients, courtesy of cross-contamination from Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips. The Nacho Cheese chips may include a handful of Sweet Spicy Chili ingredients. Hence, the undeclared allergens. If people with an allergy or sensitivity to wheat or soy eat the chips, they could be at risk of illness.

These affected bags were mostly distributed in Pennsylvania to retail stores and in vending machines. Consumers would have been able to purchase them as early as June 29, 2023.
