Disneyland is most well known for its character meet-and-greets and family-friendly rides. But they’re also food-famous! (Here’s why we’re headed to Disney.) We can’t get enough of the crazy sweets they’ve been promoting recently–including churros.
You may think of churros as fried dough with a smattering of sugar and cinnamon (okay, they basically are). Disneyland took that idea and turned it on its head to create what can only be described as heaven. Quite frankly, the star of the show in Anaheim may be the Carrot Cake Churros. Just imagine a delicious carrot cake that’s portable. The creation is rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with a cream cheese dipping sauce. Yum!
More Churro Goodness!
Disney knows we love churros. (Who doesn’t?) In addition to Carrot Cake Churros, we’ve heard about a Coco Churro that’s flavored with chocolate powder and salted cinnamon sugar, and served with a spiced Mexican dipping sauce. There’s also Strawberry Rose Gold Churros–at the Churro Cart in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle–and a S’mores Churro that’s served with marshmallow-chocolate dipping sauce. (You know we love s’mores!) The most colorful churro is inspired by “Up,” and it’s a lemon pastry that’s rolled in lemon sugar and multi-colored fruity cereal.
The churros at Disneyland’s Cozy Cone Motel are covered in red, blue or yellow colored sugar–like the “Cars 3” characters Lighting McQueen, Jackson Storm and Cruz Ramirez. So cute!
With all the churro choices here I can officially say that Disneyland is not just the “Happiest Place on Earth,” it may be the sweetest, too. To create the magic at home, start with our basic churros recipe and use our maple glaze or caramel sauce for dipping!
