Time to Get Out Your Wallet—Disney+ Is No Longer Offering Free Trials
How badly do you want to watch Ratatouille?
There are so many streaming services now that it’s hard to know what’s worth subscribing to. Hulu has great stuff including a Chrissy Teigen cooking show, and of course, Netflix has a massive library of TV shows. Even Amazon Prime does original content pretty well. But for folks with kids, one service is the gold to everything else’s silver: Disney+.
There’s just no competition when it comes to programs the whole family can watch. Now, it seems Mickey and pals know we’re interested. Moving forward, the service will be eliminating its week-long free trial.
So I’ll Have to Pay to Watch on Disney+?
If you’re a Hamilton fan who’s eagerly anticipating the acclaimed musical’s Disney+ release on July 3, you’ll have to pay for it… pay for it… pay for it. We know—it’s a serious bummer, especially considering that the service previously offered a free week.
Most streaming platforms offer some kind of free trial period, but Disney+ has several huge releases coming up this year. There’s Hamilton, plus The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and more episodes of The Mandalorian. It’s not surprising they’re no longer allowing customers to watch for free.

How Much Will It Cost?
Thankfully, watching Disney+ won’t break the bank. Priced at $6.99 per month, it’s on the cheaper side for streaming services. For another $6 a month, you can get a package that includes Hulu and ESPN Plus, too.
At either subscription rate, it’s worth trying Disney+ for a month to see whether you and your family like it. But if you don’t—or if you’re really just there for Hamilton—make sure to cancel your membership before the month ends!
