The first time I ever ate a Dairy Queen dipped cone, I was in heaven. It was the most delicious treat I had ever eaten in my entire nine years of existence. I chose a vanilla cone dipped in a decadent, candy-red cherry flavor, and the rest is history.

The dipping of the cones itself is a remarkable feat, because it relies on the Dairy Queen soft serve to have just the right texture and temperature to ensure that it doesn’t slide out of the cone when it gets dipped. Once it’s been dipped, though, the cold temperature of the ice cream freezes the sauce, so it gets a hardened candy-like texture and that signature snap.

Though, as an adult, I do prefer to have my cones dipped in chocolate, I am always down to try whatever Dairy Queen wants to experiment with. And it’s just my luck, because there’s a brand-new dip for spring.

What is DQ’s new dipped cone?

The Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone is the latest treat from DQ, and it is absolutely a one-of-a-kind product. First off, it’s blue! Second, it contains tiny pieces of cookies in the dip itself. All of this makes me think that perhaps they wanted to name it after a certain Sesame Street dessert enthusiast but couldn’t secure the licensing rights. Regardless of what DQ calls it, I’m sure that it’s going to be delicious.

How long will it be available?

The Crunchin’ Cookie dip will only be available for a “limited time.” It has already hit some DQ locations and should be available nationwide by early March. This won’t be a regular menu offering, though, and will just be a seasonal option for spring. So, if you’re in the mood to treat yourself, I would go to Dairy Queen ASAP!
