Chicken & Waffles Cereal Exists, And We Don’t Know What to Think

Post just keeps surprising us with their new cereals, and we're BOWLED over!

This past summer, Post introduced several new cereal flavors that surprised and delighted us. This included  a bunch of new takes on Honey Bunches of Oats, ranging from a new banana and almond flavor to zip-sealed maple pecan granola. (Trust us, it’s delicious!)

Just when we thought we’d seen everything, Post introduced perhaps what is their craziest flavor yet: chicken and waffles.

Chicken & Waffles Cereal

Chicken & Waffles Cereal is a spin on Honey Bunches of Oats. It features mini chicken drumstick-shaped cereal pieces paired with waffle-shaped cereal pieces, according to Chew Boom, a food industry news source. The back of the box explains that “Sweet & savory unite in a flavor-intense cereal that combines chicken & waffles flavored goodness for a unique breakfast experience!”

Psst! Got 30 minutes? You can make your own chicken & waffles with this quick, classic recipe.

Maple Bacon Donuts Cereal

Alongside Chicken & Waffles, Post is introducing Maple Bacon Donuts Cereal. Another spin on Honey Bunches of Oats, this cereal features ring doughnut-shaped cereal pieces paired with wavy oat cereal flakes. Like the Chicken & Waffles flavor, Maple Bacon Donuts marries sweet with savory for a unique breakfast experience. And while there’s no bacon in the box (nor chicken in the Chicken & Waffles box) we’re excited for this flavor because, well, bacon.

And speaking of bacon, here are 50 savory, addictive bacon appetizers. Can you hear the sizzle?

When (and where!) can we buy the cereal?

Word has it that these new cereals will be available for a limited time at Walmart starting March 7, which just happens to be National Cereal Day.
