Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a film that will remain ever iconic. Stylish, smart and sophisticated are words that come to mind to describe not only the film, but the star, Audrey Hepburn, and the character she portrays, Holly Golightly. While you can always stand outside the Manhattan restaurant and enjoy your coffee and breakfast on-the-go, it’s all the more chic to enjoy a proper breakfast inside that Ms. Golightly would have surely loved.
The Blue Box Café, located on the fourth floor of the flagship Tiffany & Co. store at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in New York City, will allow you to try a Tiffany take on classic New York dishes.
Breakfast starts at $29 with the standard “Breakfast at Tiffany,” which consists of coffee or tea, a croissant, seasonal fruit, and your choice of smoked salmon and bagels, truffled eggs, avocado toast or buttermilk waffles. That’s just to start, and it already puts Ms. Golightly’s deli coffee to shame.
Looking for something a little more luxe? Enjoy a prix fixe lunch selection of caviar and smashed potatoes or a Maine lobster salad. Or go for individual sweets and pastries like chocolate mousse cake with your espresso. Not a coffee fan? Enjoy tea time ($49), featuring teas by Bellocq, bakery items and finger sandwiches.
This isn’t the only new endeavor from Tiffany’s. The jeweler also opened a new concept store in Rockefeller Center, with another set to open soon inside Grand Central Terminal, with both locations offering a variety of jewelry pieces, accessories and home items. Reed Krakoff, chief artistic officer of Tiffany & Co., says the new spaces emphasize modern luxury and are “a window into the new Tiffany.”
With everything from the walls and the plates outfitted in the classic robin’s egg blue, you’ll feel like you’re inside that special blue box. You can even shop around in the newly renovated home and accessories section, also on the fourth floor, while you wait. Looking out over Central Park, this bright café will offer a magical experience that will have you crazy about Tiffany’s.
Didn’t I tell you this was a wonderful place?
