Carl’s Jr. And Hardee’s Just Added Two New Menu Items

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are unleashing the Memphis BBQ Thickburger, which pairs smoked pulled pork with a classic charbroiled hamburger to create a match made in BBQ heaven, and the much-anticipated Jolly Rancher Milkshake. (We’re even more excited than when Taco Bell brought back its Naked Chicken Chalupa!)


Meet the Jolly Rancher Milkshake

The Jolly Rancher Milkshake takes a vanilla shake, blends in crushed Jolly Rancher candy and wraps things up with whipped cream and more crushed Jolly Ranchers. It was tested in 2017 at select locations in Alabama and California and people loved the Jolly Rancher Milkshake so much it earned a spot on the permanent menu. It’s not exactly a flavor combo we’ve done before, though we’ve used Jolly Ranchers in some of our recipes. But in a milkshake?

Our Taste-Test

Being old enough to have bought Jolly Ranchers as penny-candy, and as a milkshake aficionado, I had to try a Jolly Rancher Milkshake.

It did not disappoint! Sweet and creamy, with bright little hits of that familiar mellow-sweet Jolly Ranchers candy flavor, the Jolly Rancher Milkshake is perfect on its own, as a dessert, or as a decadent side to any of the sandwiches. But it seems tailor-made to pair with the Memphis BBQ Thickburger, which may be precisely why Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s launched them together…

Hello, Memphis BBQ Thickburger

The Memphis BBQ Thickburger was originally introduced in 2012, and now it’s back by popular demand! The Memphis BBQ Thickburger brings together succulent smoked pulled pork with a charbroiled beef patty, and it’s topped off with crispy fried onion strings, cheese and the restaurant’s signature Memphis barbecue sauce.
