Candy Cane Hot Cocoa Pops Recipe

Making a batch of hot cocoa bombs at home isn’t as tricky as you may think. With the right tools and a bit of patience, it’s certainly achievable—even with your kids as kitchen helpers. The recipe below is similar to our classic hot cocoa bomb recipe.

You can use any silicone mold for your hot cocoa bombs, but TikTok user @sweetsbyleila chose a heart-shaped mold for her cocoa pops.

Step 1: Melt the chocolate

First, melt your chocolate either on the stovetop or in the microwave, and then use the chocolate to coat the inside of your molds with a thick layer. Freeze the chocolate shells for at least 15 minutes, then pop them out.

Step 2: Fill the hot cocoa pop

Fill one side of your hot cocoa bomb with hot cocoa powder. Don’t forget the marshmallows! Then place the end of an unwrapped candy cane inside.

Step 3: Seal

Seal the hot cocoa bombs by resting the second piece on a hot pan or plate to melt the edges slightly before placing it on top and pressing down gently to seal. The peppermint candy cane will create the ideal handle for the hot cocoa bomb and will act as a spoon while you’re preparing a perfect mug of cocoa.
