‘Burrata Boards’ Are Bound to Bring Everyone Together This Summer

Updated: Apr. 20, 2023

You can pair burrata with everything from tomatoes and basil to nectarines and prosciutto.

It seems like charcuterie boards are becoming even more popular, something we didn’t think was possible! Just spend a couple minutes on Instagram and you’ll find breakfast boards, s’mores boards and even “barkcuterie” boards for dogs. But the latest charcuterie trend is the burrata board.

What Is Burrata?

It’s one of the types of cheese you’ve been missing! This creamy cow’s milk cheese is a ball of fresh mozzarella with a creamy center. It’s one of the most delicious cheeses I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting, and I highly recommend trying it out even if you don’t make a burrata board. Do you know the difference between burrata and mozzarella cheese?

How to Make Your Own Burrata Board

You’ll want to start with two to three balls of burrata. Then fill in the board with whatever’s in season. You can start with fresh, colorful heirloom tomatoes as a good base. Add fresh basil in for good measure—it’s a super delicious combo. Look for ripe cucumbers, nectarines and peaches; cut them up and arrange as creatively as you wish. Don’t forget the charcuterie meats!

Drizzle some olive oil or balsamic glaze and have some toast or crostini ready on the edges for easy eating. And remember, our guide to cheese board pairings is here if you need it.
