Buffalo Chicken Nachos Are Taco Bell’s Newest Wild Concept

Updated: Jan. 03, 2019

In their newest test item, Taco Bell is bringing together two of our favorite gameday foods: nachos and buffalo wings.

The chain’s new $5 Buffalo Chicken Nachos Box adds a tangy twist to its original pack of nachos.

The new Chicken Box consists of shredded chicken and spicy buffalo sauce plus guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, nacho cheese, refried beans and a three-cheese blend, all of which gets served over nacho chips.

These Buffalo Chicken Nachos are a spin-off of their $5 Steak Nachos Box, which Taco Bell served up for a limited time earlier last year. That version weighed in at almost an entire pound, so it’s possible that this buffalo wing version will be equally as hefty.

Taco Bell will start offering the $5 Buffalo Chicken Nachos Box and drink as a test item in Charlotte, North Carolina, starting December 27.

During that same time span, Taco Bell will be testing out two other items in various parts of the US. In the Milwaukee area, there will be a $5 Cheesy Jalapeno Nachos Box, similar to the buffalo wing version, but swaps out the buffalo sauce and chicken for jalapenos and ground beef.

Meanwhile, in the Cincinnati area, Taco Bell’s latest dollar menu item, a $1 Beefy Potato Flatbread, will be tested. It consists of a flatbread “taco” loaded with seasoned potato bites, seasoned beef, warm nacho cheese sauce and melted cheddar cheese. Jalapenos can be added to it as well to turn up the heat.

All three of these items will be available in their respective locations through mid-January.
