Sure, Memorial Day is just around the corner, but everyone could use a little Christmas cheer right now. The Hallmark Channel aired a Christmas movie marathon back in March, and we were thankful. Then we caught wind that Dolly Parton was going to be releasing a Christmas musical later in the year, and we were ecstatic!
Now we have something even better to look forward to—Betty White has signed on to star in a Lifetime Christmas movie.
Betty White turned 98 earlier this year, and it appears that nothing slows her down. She credits her longevity to vodka and hotdogs.
The Movie Details Are Still Under Wraps
There are very few details about the new Lifetime movie available, though reportedly White’s character “helps whip would-be Santas into shape, spreading the true meaning of Christmas.” No word on whether this means Betty White will play Mrs. Claus or not.
We imagine the Betty White movie will be available by Christmas, but everything is up in the air right now since movies and TV productions have put filming on hold due to the pandemic. Lifetime characterized the state of its holiday movies as being in “various stages of production,” so at least we know it’s a go.
Everyone Loves This Golden Girl
If you can’t wait until Christmas to get your fill of Betty White, you’ll only have to wait until fall for the Golden Girls cookbook to hit shelves.
In the meantime, you can buy a set of adorable Golden Girls tiki mugs. Plus, get that springform pan ready because we have a slew of scrumptious cheesecake recipes that even a Golden Girl would be proud of.
