Aldi Just Gave Raises to Everyone Who Works in Its Stores and Warehouses
Aldi is adapting to make grocery shopping safer right now—and they're rewarding employees, too.
Aldi is making major changes to keep its shoppers and staff safe right now. Not only is Aldi offering grocery delivery and pickup via Instacart, they’re also taking precautions in stores. Plus, to thank its team, Aldi is giving temporary raises to all of its workers—including those in the warehouses.
The chain also adjusted its sick leave policy to make sure employees can put their health first, and stay home when they aren’t feeling well. This makes us happy to say we shop at Aldi!
What Else Is Aldi Doing in Response to the Coronavirus Outbreak?
Pressing pause on Aldi finds
Every month, Aldi releases a list of limited edition finds, but this month, they’re a bit behind schedule. That’s OK—it’s for a very good reason. Aldi’s April finds are on pause so the stores can focus on staying open, clean and stocked up with essentials for customers.
Creating a special shopping hour
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the first hour of business at this budget-friendly grocery chain is reserved for senior citizens, expectant mothers and those with underlying health concerns.

Encouraging social distancing
Customers will also notice some changes when they’re ready to check out. There will be new signs and floor decals to encourage social distancing. Clear barriers have also been installed at registers for the health and safety of employees.
Hiring additional employees
In order to keep up with the overwhelming demand, Aldi has hired nearly 7,500 new employees for temporary positions in stores and warehouses across the country.
Donating $1 million to the community
Last but not least, Aldi plans to donate $1 million to community organizations to support those in need. While the organizations haven’t been named just yet, it’s still nice to know that this company is dedicated to caring for its customers and its employees at times like this.
