Aldi’s German Week Is Back, and We Can’t Wait to Dig into Pretzels, Apple Strudel and More

It's time to stock up on authentic, affordable German fare.

We’re never short on reasons to love Aldi. For one, they’ve got unbeatable prices, and if you haven’t taken advantage of them yet, there might be an Aldi opening near you soon. For another, they’re the place to go to when you’re looking for basics like canned foods, baking essentials and even paper plates.

But there’s a time of year when we love Aldi just a bit extra. Aldi German Week is here—and we can’t wait to dig into all things Deutschland!

What Can I Get at Aldi German Week?

Aldi German Week happens twice a year—around Easter and just before Oktoberfest, and it’s the best time to stock up on your favorite European goodies. This year’s offerings include a variety of German food under their Deutsche Küche brand, including classic soft pretzels and pretzel breadsticks, German-style pickles (including cornichons made with mini gherkin cucumbers), and an assortment of European mustards. And of course, it wouldn’t be a true German meal without some strudel, which you can find in apple, spinach and ricotta and artichoke and cheese varieties. You can also grab hash browns, Bavarian cheeses and more off the shelves this week.

If you’re looking to wrap up with dessert, check out the Donauwelle cake, an indulgent chocolate cake with cherries and vanilla buttercream. If you’re looking for something unique, their authentic Bienenstich or Bee Sting cake is a delicious pastry-like cake with cream and a crunchy honey-and-almond topping.

Peanut puffs are also back on the shelves for all your WFH snacking needs, and if you haven’t tried this savory snack, we suggest you grab a bag ASAP! And of course, it wouldn’t be a real German Week without some booze, so pick up a bottle of Schloss Obermann German Sekt sparkling wine on your way out!

When Can I Grab ‘Em?

Aldi German Week runs from April 7 to April 14, so stock up while you can. The best part? Almost all of the items are under $5, so you can have a true European feast without breaking the bank.
