Think of the pasta-bilities!

This $1.99 Aldi Find Is Going to Fly Off the Shelf

Is there anything Aldi can’t do? I certainly think of Aldi as my happy place, considering that I never leave the store with buyer’s remorse. That’s pretty easy to do in a place where life-changing finds only put me back $4.99. In fact, a “splurge” at Aldi would probably be this $34.99 kitchen appliance, and even then, it’s a steal.
While browsing the upcoming Aldi Finds, I noticed something very cheap and very cute. You might even say that it has me starry-eyed!
What’s the new $1.99 Aldi find?
If you love stocking up on pantry staples at Aldi, then you’ll already know that they have an incredible bronze-cut pasta line from their in-house Italian brand, Priano. This is my absolute favorite pasta to cook with, and so I was delighted to see that Aldi added a new pasta shape to the Priano lineup: stars.
I don’t know how closely you follow pasta news, but this is a huge deal. Back in 2023, pasta brand Ronzoni announced that they would be discontinuing their star-shaped pastina. Pastina just means “little pasta,” but boy, did this little pasta announcement have a big impact. People started hoarding boxes of pastina, and some were selling on eBay for upwards of $40/box.
Now, thanks to Aldi, you can enjoy these delightful stars for $1.99. It’s a great way to add personality to your chicken noodle soup recipe. What’s more, Aldi is bringing bronze-cut orzo to its shelves as well, so it’s a great time to bookmark some orzo recipes!
When will it be available?
Both the stars and orzo drop at Aldi on Wednesday, February 19. Most Aldi finds fly off the shelf pretty fast, and since there’s no word on whether this pasta shape will be part of the regular Priano lineup, you should plan on making an Aldi run ASAP.
