You Won’t Believe What’s in Aldi’s New Advent Calendars

Leave the chocolate Santas for your kids—because this year, Aldi has Advent calendars stocked with merlot and havarti.

It’s never too early to think about Christmas! (Because make-ahead Christmas cookies are the best.) To start the holiday season, one retailer is giving us all an early present—the Aldi Advent calendar we’ve been asking for is coming to the United States and it’s bringing a friend.

That’s right! You can add Advent calendars stocked with imported mini bottles of wine and mini cheeses to the list of reasons to love Aldi.

The kids can stick with the chocolate and candy Advent calendars, but these new wine and cheese calendars are definitely the right way to end the night for adults.

The Cheese Advent Calendar Is Pretty Gouda

The Cheese Advent Calendar ($12.99) comes with 24 mini imported cheeses you’ll love to snack on before bed, like gouda, havarti, Edam and cheddar. The European cheese has always been among our recommendations for things to buy at Aldi, so we’re very excited about this new development!

Here are 10 amazing things you should know about cheese.

Cheers to the Wine Advent Calendar

Previously only available in the U.K., the Wine Advent Calendar ($69.99) contains 24 small bottles of imported red, white, rosé and bubbly such as Malbec, Pinot Grigio and sauvignon blanc. Aldi has doubled down on their wine selection lately, and they’ve recently pulled in a bunch of international wine awards, too. We’re definitely ready to have this in the US of A.

When to Buy the Aldi Advent Calendars

These Advent calendars hit Aldi stores on November 7, so mark your regular calendar. The buzz around ’em both is already pretty big. Like other Aldi finds, including this $59.99 stand mixer, it will be a hot item! (Just make sure your local Aldi store sells wine before you head over.)

The calendars are sold separately, but getting both might be the perfect way to end your evening in the 24 days leading up to Christmas.

Psst: Did you know decorating early for holidays is good for your health?
