Put the cookies in a mini food processor. (Linda Cheung, our recipe tester, used this KitchenAid cordless food processor.) Pulse until you have crumbs. You can also put the Oreos in an airtight bag, then use a rolling pin to crush the cookies into fine crumbs.

Transfer the cookie crumbs to a mixing bowl.

Step 2: Mix the cake batter

Grease a microwaveable silicone cake mold with oil or cooking spray. Cut out a round piece of parchment paper and place it in the bottom of the mold. Pour the batter into the mold and microwave the cake for six minutes, in 60-second intervals.

Let the cake cool completely, then invert it over a baking rack on a sheet pan to contain any stray crumbs. Eat this 3-ingredient Oreo cake as-is or top with an optional chocolate ganache.

How to make the ganache

Bring 1/2 cup cup heavy cream to a boil. Place 1/2 cup chopped chocolate or chocolate chips in a heat-safe bowl. Pour the hot heavy cream over the chocolate and whisk the mixture until smooth. Pour the ganache over the cooled Oreo cake, then press crushed Oreos onto the edge of the cake for decoration.

Be sure to allow the Oreo cake to set before digging in!

Turn this into a cookies and cream cake

You already have the Oreo cake as a base. Just make homemade whipped cream, or grab a tub of store-bought whipped topping. Spread the whipped cream on top and sprinkle it with even more crushed Oreos for a dreamy dessert.
