The July/August issue of Simple & Delicious featured 12 contest winning recipes that use five or fewer ingredients (excluding salt, pepper and water). Here are six more recipes for main dishes, sides and desserts.

"Pineapple and soy sauce pair nicely for marinating chicken breasts," says field editor Emma Magielda of Amsterdam, New York. "Pineapple Chicken comes out of the oven moist and tasty."

"My husband introduced me to this open-faced sandwich shortly after we got married," says Lindsay Orwig of Grand Terrace, California. "Bacon-Tomato Bagel Melts quickly became an all-time favorite. It's good made with plain or onion bagels. Have fun experimenting with various toppings and dressings, too."

Writes Donna Cline from Pensacola, Florida, "We especially enjoy Zucchini 'N' Carrot Coins this time of year, when fresh vegetables are plentiful. This colorful side dish is attractive with any meat."

Broccoli Waldorf Salad is as easy to prepare as it is to eat! A colorful combination of apples, raisins and pecans jazzes up broccoli florets in this summery side dish. "Its tangy-sweet flavor makes it a standout at company picnics and church potlucks," says Vicki Roehrick of Chubbuck, Idaho.

"Youngsters love this refreshing punch," says Carthage, New York's Margaret Bossuot. Sweet sherbet, fruity soft drink mix and orange juice concentrate make Kool-Aid Floats a popular way to beat the heat on summer days.
