  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 to 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Dash crushed red pepper flakes

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the first five ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender. Drain. Add pepper flakes; toss to combine. Yield: 4 servings.

"Blander than expected. I used the pepper flakes, but somehow it did not enhance the flavor of the broccoli. Maybe more salt, or garlic? I love broccoli, so will play around with this recipe next time."
