Watch Us Make: Sugar Cream PieSugar Cream Pie is a sweet and custardy Indiana favorite that's as easy to make as it is to devour.

If you're from Indiana, there's a pretty good chance you've had at least a forkful of Sugar Cream Pie. It's a sweet and custardy regional favorite. It's so synonymous with that state that it's also known as Hoosier Pie. But if you're not from Indiana, the secret's out: this classic pie calls for seven simple ingredients which make up its heartland goodness.

The recipe comes from Indiana native Laura Kipper, who developed the recipe inspired by the cherished pie her grandmother baked for her (for more beloved treats, check out a few our of our favorite desserts inspired by grandma). The simple country recipe proves that a little milk, butter, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla go a long way. When baked together it forms a rich, yet light pie that's undeniably satisfying. What more, her easy recipe only takes 20 minutes of prep and just 15 minutes to bake. It's truly no wonder why the Hoosiers love it.
