I have made this many, many times from the Beef Stew Mix called for. It is not only handy but tastes good too. Once the mix is made it only takes half an hour to put a home made beef stew and dumplings meal on the table.
Sometimes I add green beans or peas and always a pinch of dried oregano.
I can't find the recipe for the beef stew mix. Otherwise I would try it.
It looks like home cookin to me and that is the best kind of food. Brings back memories of when I was a child.
