Ingredients

  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sugar, butter, milk and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until smooth and fluffy. Spread over bread. Yield: 1 cups.

"Great base recipe, but like others said, the powdered sugar flavor is WAY too strong. I added more vanilla, about twice the recommended amount. I also added much more butter, about 4tbspns. Those two things really helped scale back the overpowering sugar taste, and made it a great frosting. With those changes, it's now my go-to frosting and I've gotten loads of compliments."
