  • 1 package (12 ounces) fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup thawed cranberry juice concentrate
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons orange marmalade
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/4 cup: 113 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 0mg cholesterol, 4mg sodium, 29g carbohydrate (24g sugars, 2g fiber), trace protein


  1. In a small saucepan, combine the cranberries, cranberry juice concentrate, dried cranberries and sugar. Cook over medium heat until the berries pop, about 15 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat; stir in the orange juice, marmalade, orange peel and allspice. Transfer to a small bowl; refrigerate until chilled. Yield: 3 cups.

"I really like this cranberry sauce recipe, but I will doctor it up a bit next time though. It setup more like a stiff jello this time and I would the next batch to be a bit looser. I am going to add chopped walnuts, crushed pineapple and celery to it."

"One of my three favorites! I make a few sauces for Thanksgiving because I can never decide which I like best. {grin} This one has great flavor and I love the contrast of the fresh berries with the dried berries. I've gotten in the habit of subbing apple cider for the orange juice and skipping the extra zest, but my first time time around I did stick to the recipe and it's quite good that way, too. For the concentrate, I use a Cran- Pomegranate blend because my store usually doesn't stock straight cranberry."
