- 8 slices white bread, toasted if desired
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise, divided
- 2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced 1/2 inch thick
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Spread four slices of bread with half of the mayonnaise. Top with tomatoes; season with salt and pepper. Spread remaining mayonnaise over remaining bread; close sandwiches. Yield: 4 servings.
