Ingredients

  • 2 medium ripe avocados, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 small tomato, seeded and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Tortilla chips

Nutritional Facts

1/4 cup: 73 calories, 7g fat (1g saturated fat), 3mg cholesterol, 125mg sodium, 3g carbohydrate (1g sugars, 2g fiber), 1g protein.

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mash avocados and lime juice with a fork. Stir in the tomato, sour cream, salt and garlic. Cover and refrigerate for 5 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips. Yield: 2-1/3 cups.

"I followed this recipe exactly and it is delicious. It is very mild, so would be a great crowd pleaser. Next time, I will probably add some black pepper for additional flavor without being spicy, and may substitute plain yogurt for the sour cream."

"this is my favorite. Lime instead of lemon juice is a winner. I added about a TB of finely minced sweet onion. Also, packed it in a container pressed it down and dribbled about 1/2 inch of water on top , covered with syran wrap then the lid. Refrigerate. When ready to use pour off water then mix. It is green and fresh keeps well over night."
