Reviews for The Ultimate Grilled Cheese
"The kids and I LOVE this! I don't buy italian bread, instead I use the cheap white bread and it is still soooo good! I also sometimes use shredded italian cheese blend instead of plain mozzarella."
"I can't wait to try this recipe but I have a question. Do I use miracle whip or real Mayo?"
"A good deliciously different grilled cheese. I think it would also be good to make it hardier by adding ham!"
"These were so delicious! I made them on a whim so I only had regular white bread and they were still wonderful!"
"The whole family loves it. I just use a little less mayo."
"This was too rich for my taste. The mayo overwhelmed the flavor and I guess that's not what I want to taste in a grilled cheese. Maybe reducing or using sour cream would be better. For as much filling as this made, I could have easily doubled the amount of bread. The sandwiches were so overstuffed, maybe it was the size of my loaf, but that could be another reason they seemed too rich for me. But I love the idea of cream cheese and multiple cheeses for a grilled cheese."
"Sooo good! My whole family has loved it for years."
"ukfan, just a heads up....an 8 oz. package of shredded cheese is considered 2 cups volumewise, 8 oz. by weight. Check your package. I think this is were your confusion comes in. A cup of marshmallows wouldn't weigh NEARLY what a cup of molten steel would, but they would BOTH measure ONE CUP.
"just a heads up...1 cup is 8oz, not 4oz. so do you use 1 cup or 4oz??"
"This has been a favorite for us for a long time. It is especially good paired with a tomato-basil soup."
"My family can't get enough of this cheesey deliciousness. Great comfort food"
"I love cream cheese. I love mayo.I did not love this sandwich. I really felt like the cream cheese and mayo overpowered the other cheeses and seasonings (which I did like), so I will try tweaking to my taste."
"I make this grilled cheese non stop! The only changes I make is sour cream for mayo and 4ozs of cream cheese!"
"My kids, 7, 13 & 18 devoured everything and demanded this recipe goes into regular rotation."
"This is the best grilled cheese sandwich. I have made it several times and have good reviews on it."
"This has become one of my family's favorite Lenten meals. Making tomorrow night for the parental units and the kiddos."
"When I saw it has 50 G of fat and 646 calories per sandwich, I promply decided NOT to make this one."
"My family LOVES this! Sometimes I will use Texas Toast. Dip into homemade tomato soup... So good!"
"Fab! The cheese mixture made a ton so I used the leftovers as dip, spread it on french bread, and froze some. Make this!!!"
"Greatest thing ever!"
"I have been making this for years since i first found it...my family goe's wild over it....The best grilled cheese ever..."
"EXCELLENT. I made the cheese mixture up a day ahead of time and then spread it onto the bread just prior to cooking and it was fine. This would be outstanding with soup or chili for a heary meal. My parents loved it!"
"I was so excited when I read the reviews on this sandwich! Then I actually made it. Thank goodness I had real sliced cheese in the fridge. It was sooo rich, I could hardly finish my first bite. I had all this stuff left over, spent two days trying to figure out what I could turn it into...nothing. Had to throw it out. I can't hardly believe that this was a prize winning recipe. SORRY"
"I've also used this cheese mixture and added chunks of cooked chicken and spread it all on tortilla shells - great quesadillas - my college aged kids still request them still!"
"Best grilled cheese ever, threw a slice of ham in with the cheese."
"I love this recipe. Like many of the others I also have made this spread ahead and it is fantastic. I also like it cold on crackers."
"This is so good. Had a get together and served these and everyone loved them."
"This is a favorite. We add a package of crabmeat when we make them and have them with tomato soup.....mmmm."
"THE best grilled cheese I have ever had!! Since it's just the two of us, we sometimes freeze the filling and use later as baked potato topping."
"This I’ve made many, many times ~ I mix the filling ahead of time serving is a snap and always a hit, served with Tomato Soup, thank you!"
