"This salad is delicious! My wife and I love it with grilled or sauteed chicken breast added to make it a full meal. Be patient when melting the sugar for the almonds...it takes longer than stated in the recipe for me but it will eventually melt and is well worth the wait as the sweet crunchy clusters are the perfect compliment to the salad."
"I've been making this recipe for years! This is a keeper!"
"Tastes like summer in a bowl! It's so good!"
"healthy and so simple, easy to make."
"It was really good. My husband even liked it. I just bought poppy seed dressing."
"I really like this recipe. My husband is diabetic, so I don't use the sugar. We like the almonds sprinkled on the salad without the additional sweetness."
"Very good recipe and very easy to make. My husband didn't think he was going to like it but loved it. Great summer salad and perfect dressing to go with it."
"This was a delicious salad. Similar to a few other reviewers, I just used the almonds as is, and didn't add any additional sugar. I'm sure it would be delicious, but combined with the sweetness of the strawberries I thought it might be too much. Absolutely wonderful dressing. I didn't change a thing there."
"This salad tastes like summer - I love it! I sometimes throw in baby spinach along with the romaine. Also, I just toast the almonds instead of using the extra sugar."
"I love nuts, but am not crazy about all of that sugar, so I just throw the almonds in "as is." Chopped walnuts or cashew halves & pieces work well in this salad also. For some extra color and flavor, I sometimes add fresh pineapple chunks and mandarin oranges. This salad is SO refreshing on a hot summer day!"
"I made this with Tahini instead of the sesame seeds and 1 tsp of sugar, and baby spinach it was Delicious by far the best salad ever."
"Great salad! Boy friend said that he likes most of the salads I make pretty well, but this one was "absolutely delicious". I'm taking it to a potluck dinner tomorrow!"
"Loved this salad. I substituted walnuts for the almonds and used red wine vinegar instead of cider vinegar (that is what I had on hand). It was great!"
"I like this recipe."
"Turned out great, but next time I will try using greek yogurt instead of mayo and maybe some of the other suggestions like adding avocado or chicken."
"This dressing is great! I've been looking for a poppy seed dressing recipe! The only change I made was using honey instead of sugar. It gave the dressing more depth. Oh, and the addition of avocados to the salad made it more filling, and tasty!"
"Outstanding! Added some roasted chicken breast and mandarin oranges. Couldn't ask for an easier and more delicious summer dinner :)"
"This dressing was awesome. Just tart enough. To make it a little healthier I used fat free mayo & sour cream. Couldn't tell any difference. This is a keeper."
"I was expecting a good salad. I was not expecting one of the best salads I've ever had, but it is. I'll be making it for every cook out and get together this summer. Yum."
"I made this for a valentine's day party that served 50+ people. Everyone said it was beautiful & delicious and one person said it was the highlight of the whole dinner!"
"Delicious dressing...a keeper!"
"Easy to do, good with or without onions. Did not loved the dressing but it wasn't bad either, its just that I don't like mayo. Would like to try it with another dressing the next time."
"I made this for a church potluck and it was delicious! I only got a small taste of the dressing when I was checking the taste but we were in such a rush to get all the food out I didn't get to try it all together before or after since by the time I got through the line the bowl was literally scrapped clean! Fabulous recipe!!"
"I did not add the onions because my family does not like them; however, I must say this was hit even without them! My son ,who will not eat any vegetables unless they are deep-fried, really loved this salad!"
"Everyone in my family loves this recipe! lIt is hard to find something everyone enjoys but this one is definately a winner!"

"I have made this several times. It is quick and easy and is always a hit."
"delicious, easy, yummy"
"I made this salad & took it to my niece & nephews birthday party. Since there was a lot of family there, I doubled the recipe. Let me tell you....Everyone went back for seconds!! My sister said it was so refreshing to have. For those of us who love blue cheese, I didn't put it in the salad (not all kids like blue cheese), but I added some to mine & it went very well with this salad. Mmmm Mmmm Mmmmm!!!! Five Stars Indeed!!"
"The first time I made this recipe was for Easter and it was a hit!! Have made it several times since and each time is like I made it for the first time. People love it. It is something a little different and certainly refreshing and light. I use pecans instead of almonds and it is just as great."
"Made this for a recent bridal shower. It was a big hit!"
"This is easy to put together and every time I have made it my guest love it. Sometimes I add blueberries, mandrin oranges and chicken and call it dinner!"
"Amazingly delicious! Was a hit at the party! Dressing is so light and tasty and I used low-fat mayo and skim milk! Didn't use the candies almonds, just used blanched, slivered almonds and it was perfect! Was asked to bring it again to the next family outing!"
"Tried this weekend..awesome!!"
"This is a great salad. The dressing is fabulous. A definite keeper. I will make this one again and again."
"I made this salad for the Mother-Daughter Banquet that we held at my church. It was a HUGE success. The only thing I would recommend is immediately cleaning your skillet, because if you let it set, you cannot get the caramel out of it!"
"This salad tastes fabulous! It has a summer feel to it. I will change a few things: (1) I will put plain almonds in, no sugar coating and (2) make the dressing ahead of time. It tasted better the second day. Also, we had some grilled chicken in the refrigerator, so I chopped it up and threw it in the salad and it made a great meal!"
"My family LOVED this salad. A definite keeper!"
"Family loved this salad...even the kids! Easy. Pretty. Tasty."

"I make a similiar recipe but use red onion and raspberry vinegar instead then top it off with candied slivered almonds. Tastes wonderful!"
"This salad was a hit with family! Used red onion (not so sharp as yellow) and doubled dressing. Super easy and delicious. Will definitly add to recipes keep."

"Great recipe, though I have to confess I substituted the dressing for a store bought poppy seed dressing. Very easy and delicious. I fed it it 3 marines who each had multiple helpings even though there was plenty of ham and mashed potatoes on the table, also. :)"
"I took this salad to a potluck at work and brought home an empty bowl. Several people said i was the best salad they ever had."
"This was an absolute hit!!"
"This salad is great. I have made it with blueberries, too, and used glazed walnuts instead of the almonds. It always turns out delicious."
"This is an excellent recipe. I have served this for my family and a group of ladies and people love it, especially the dressing; however, with ingredients measured as shown would be very 'skimpy' on the dressing for 10 people."
"Wonderful salad. My daughter made this for us the first time. I had to make it again for a pot luck for my husband work, his request. Was surprised when it went over wonderfully well for a mostly group of men. When my husband got home I had to fill his request for copies of the recipe."
"This salad is refreshing, crunchy and delicious. I did not add the onions since we don't really like the taste of raw onions. I do question the number of servings. With the amount of dressing indicated, I think a serving of 6 would be more accurate."
"Excellent salad. Love the dressing."
"I made this for my in-laws and it was loved my all. I will definitely make it again."
"I changed to green onions at the last minute because when I cut into my onion, it was bad! Disaster averted, and I actually liked the mild flavor of the green onions and plan to make it a permanent substitution. I also added baby spinach to the romaine. The salad was beautiful, was super easy to make, and it was gobbled down at a recent family gathering. It is definitely a keeper!!"
"very good recipe"
"Took this for an Easter Dinner with over 40 people. Everyone loved it......"

"This salad is absolutely delicious, and a snap to make."
"Yummy recipe... we left out the onions for the kids, but still very good."
