Ingredients

  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups cold club soda
  • Lemon slices, optional

Nutritional Facts

1 serving (1 cup) equals 100 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 14 mg sodium, 26 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 1 g protein.

Directions

  1. Place half of the water, strawberries and sugar in a blender; cover and blend until smooth. Transfer to a large pitcher. Repeat with remaining water, strawberries and sugar. Stir in lemon juice, then add soda. Serve immediately, garnished with lemon if desired. Yield: 8 servings (2 quarts).

Here is the thing: To get the strawberry taste...you have to get really fresh strawberries. We picked ours. That isn't available in a lot of areas. Therefore...I'd get fresh one's in the store but add a few more than the recipe calls for. I sliced mine in half and THEN measured out 4 cups. My family thought it was just so-so. I loved it! One individual thought I should have left out the club soda and just used regular water. Another wished I had added MORE water so that it wouldn't be so thick. I thought it was perfect but these are just suggestions for others.

This lemonade tastes very similar to a party punch. It was easy and very affordable to make. I will definitely be making this again. Tasty!
