Stewed Okra Recipe
- 3 cups chopped fresh tomatoes
- 1 cup sliced fresh or frozen okra
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 25 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
1/2 cup: 50 calories, 2g fat (1g saturated fat), 5mg cholesterol, 216mg sodium, 7g carbohydrate (5g sugars, 2g fiber), 1g protein.
