Reviews for Spiced Pork Chops
"I have had this recipe for many years from an old Taste of Home. Wonderful recipe!!!"
"The coating on the meat was good. But the sauce was well...ketchup with a bit of brown sugar. I could have done the same thing with a bottle of BBQ sauce and had better flavor in the sauce. I will use the spice coating again, and bake the chops, but the rest, no thank you."
"Kids loved it"
"Very good! Like others mentioned, there was a little too much flour in comparison to the other spices. Next time I'll up the spices!"
"This is my favorite way to prepare pork chops. So flavorful, especially the sauce. Even all 7 kids like it!"
"Followed the recipe exactly. Very tender, moist, and flavorful. A hit with the entire family."
"I have made these pork chops for years now. Always a hit with everyone…All ages.Perfect in my book. Just as written !!"
"Yummy recipe. Ended up being a bit overdone even after taking them out 5 minutes early...that's the only reason I give 4 stars. But overall the recipe was good and I would definitely make it again."
"Loved these chops......lots of yummy sauce to put over the chops, potatoes, etc. easy to prepare. I made them in a cast iron skillet so it easily went from stove top to oven in one pan. Less mess to clean up later is a bonus in my books!"
"A winner in every respect....a five star recipe w/ great flavor! I reduced the flour to 1/4c as suggested and there was plenty to coat the chops. I poured some of the sauce on the bottom of the dish before adding the chops. Served the chops and sauce w/ large egg noodles, but think they would be better w/ mashed potatoes. A keeper for sure."
"These are wonderful pork chops. Very moist and flavorful! I will be making these often!"
"I've made this many times. I substitute an 8 oz can of tomato sauce for the ketchup to reduce the sugar in the sauce."
"I actually baked these covered and they were very tender."
"This smelled heavenly while it was baking, but when the time came to taste it the spices seemed lost. Next time I'm going to try doubling their measurements or perhaps reducing the flour like another review said. All in all though a great recipe that I will make again."
"This an absolutely wonderful dish. The flavor is superb, the chops come out very tender and it's easy to prepare. Served with with noodles, so you can enjoy the sauce, and paired with seasonal vegetables; it makes an outstanding meal."
"These pork chops were good but they didn't have enough seasoning. Next time instead of adding the spices to the flour dredge, I'm going to add them to the sauce and see if that makes it better."
"This is so easy and just simply delicous. I love the sauce and so did my entire family! We paired it with cheesy scalloped potatoes and I even put some of the sauce on the potatoes because I loved it so much. They were nice and moist too. I will make this again for sure."
"Simply delicious recipe. The pork chops were moist and had great flavor."
"Wonderfull. One of our favorites."
"taste is wonderful! and so easy!"
"This has become a family all-time favorite. It's easy and delicious. I also make it in the crock pot instead of baking it and it works out just as well--cook on low 8 hours. When I put the flour and seasonings together for the dredging step, I double or triple the recipe, and only take the flour out that I need. The rest I save in baggies for the next time I make the dish."
"This takes a little time to make but the wait is worth it. This has alot of spices but it is not hot at all, so don't be scared off by the name. My is not a fan of pork and she said she would eat these again."
"It is tasty and very easy to make."
"a very easy and delicious recipe,"
"easy and tasty!"
"these mildly spiced chops were delicious. thank you."
"I put this recipe in my special file I call "Blue Ribbon" recipes - those that taste terrific and are super easy! Thank you, Joan and your dear friend!"
"I used 5 thick pork chops and ended up only using half the flour. The chops probably weren't as flavorful as they should have been because I didn't use a lot of the spice mixture. I cut out one tablespoon of sugar and used less ketchup and water. Nice flavor, but I will probably use less flour next time to get more concentrated spices."
"Great recipe, I make it often. My husband doesn't like pork chops but loves this recipe. Our kids also enjoy it which is a recommendation on its own!"
"One of my absolute favorite recipes. My husband and daughter love it and it's pretty easy to make."
