Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 6 individual black tea bags
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 6 cups cold water

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from the heat; add tea bags. Cover and steep for 10 minutes. Discard tea bags.
  2. Sprinkle baking soda into a 2-qt. pitcher. Transfer tea to pitcher; stir in sugar. Add cold water. Refrigerate until chilled. Yield: 7 servings.

"This is very similar to how I make my sweet tea. The recipe is simple and tasty. I substitute the baking soda with fresh lemon juice to cut the bitterness. I also like my tea a little sweeter so I ended up using more sugar. Overall good recipe that is easy to do different variations on!"
