Bacon-Wrapped Smokies Tips

How do you serve bacon-wrapped smokies?

Bacon-wrapped smokies are one of our best bacon recipes because of their rich flavor and fun, poppable size. They’re perfect as a toothpick cocktail snack for a fancy party, or as a one-bite appetizer at a tailgating party, especially when paired with a spicy aioli or a cooling dip like ranch.

How do you store bacon-wrapped smokies?

Like other bacon-wrapped recipes, you’ll want to let the smokies cool before transferring them to an airtight container. They'll last in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. You can also make them ahead of time and store them in the fridge until you're ready to serve. Reheat the smokies in a 350° oven until the bacon crisps up and the sausage is warmed all the way through, about 15 minutes.

Can you freeze bacon-wrapped smokies?

Bacon-wrapped smokies freeze well, especially if they’re frozen in a single layer on a baking sheet to prevent the little pieces from sticking together first. To keep them from getting freezer burn, transfer them from the sheet to a freezer-safe bag for long-term storage. They should maintain their quality for up to 3 months. Thaw the bacon-wrapped smokies in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
