"This recipe is on the sweet side but gives good flavor to the chicken."
"I made a few changes to the recipe, using breasts instead of thighs, pineapple slices instead of chunks, and skipping the bacon on the chicken/in the crockpot step. However, other than those few things, I followed the recipe and both kids and myself enjoyed this meal. I think next time I would serve this with rice. But it was incredibly easy to put together and it was fantastic to walk in the door to a warm, delicious meal."
"This was good, I wasn't a fan of the bacon. I think I'll leave it out next time."
"Super easy and delicious with only a few ingredients."
"This was great! Fall apart tenderness! I did add the mushrooms to this, because my daughter loves mushrooms. No leftovers! I made with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts, since my husband doesn't care for rice. Awesome! Next time I will add more bbq sauce, to make a gravy, since there wasn't much gravy after cooking. Thanks! Oh! And I did also add a pinch of crushed red peppers."
"Not much flavor."
"I made this chicken with red peppers added to the recipe. My husband really enjoyed it over rice. I liked the flavor, but I think the sauce could be thicker. I will definitely make it again. Thanks for the simple recipe!"
"I thought this was really good, however I did omit the bacon, forgot to drain the pineapple and used more bbq sauce and pineapple than called for. The "sauce" was going to be too juicy so I added some cornstarch mixed with water to thicken it and my family all really enjoyed it. My husband suggested adding peppers, onions and mushrooms next time. Served over white rice, i will definitely be making this again with the added suggestions of hubby!"
"This recipe was easy for a work night that is a plus. The chicken was juicy. It was a nice sweet bbq chicken. I love things I can make in the crock pot!"
"We really enjoyed this recipe. I made it just as described, except that I let it cook longer since I work full time. We made mashed potatoes & asparagus for sides and it was the perfect combo."
"Love this chicken!! Great flavor.....I don't think it's expected that the pineapple flavor should come through....it adds to the overall flavor in a subtle way, and provides texture as well. So easy to whip together, and so good! A real winner!"
"Easy and simple slow cooker recipe. I wanted something different and this was great. Just made a salad and cooked wild rice. Sauce was great over the rice. I will make again."
"This looked and sounded so good, and the reviews were so enthusiastic, that I had high expectations for this recipe. Unfortunately, I could not taste the pineapple at all, even though I used a mild honey BBQ sauce. My husband was surprised when I told him there was pineapple in it. I will try it again, but will change the relative amounts of the BBQ sauce and pineapple."
"Loved this!!!! The flavor is wonderful and the chicken is outrageously tender and juicy....a given being thighs and slow cooked. This goes in my favorite recipe file!"
"Not bad.. not great. Flavors were good. Would I make it again? Maybe."
"It was delicious."
"I added some cayenne pepper for a little additional heat. The chicken was very moist & soft & I like the added flavor's of the pineapple chunks & bacon. Thank you."
"Modified by using chicken breasts and leg quarters. Made a double batch in my 6 qt. cooker, didn't drain the pineapple [will next time because it was a little too juicy.] Used a yellow onion because I didn't have the red and used pre-cooked bacon. Served it over rice. It was delicious to all the adults, but my granddaughter [a picky eater] didn't like it [but she ate the rice which was smothered in the juice.] This meal will be a regular at our house. Thanks!"
"This was just okay. Not that impressed with the flavors. Pretty much just tasted like barbecued chicken to me, and saying that, I would just cook it on the grill. Won't make again."
"ITS IS REAL GOOD"
"I will make this again and again. I loved it. I used boneless skinless chicken breast."
"So easy and so juicy delicious!"
"This was so easy and tasted excellent! My husband & I recently celebrated our 10th anniversary in Hawaii and this recipe reminds me of the flavors of Hawaii. Yum!!"
"This recipe was absolutely delicious. My husband put it together after I purchased all the ingredients and he said it was quite simple. My 3 children enjoyed it as well! I'll be making this one again for sure!"
"Super easy! and great taste....the bacon totally makes this dish."
"This recipe is so easy & much better than the usual recipe with the dry onion soup & french dressing. Great flavor, but not over powering. My picky husband liked it too."
