  • 14 to 15 cups day-old bread cubes
  • 3 cups chopped celery
  • 1-1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons rubbed sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1-1/4 cups butter, melted

Nutritional Facts

1 serving (3/4 cup) equals 289 calories, 20 g fat (12 g saturated fat), 52 mg cholesterol, 636 mg sodium, 23 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 4 g protein.


  1. Combine bread, celery, onion, sage, salt and pepper; mix well. Add butter and toss. Spoon into a 5-qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, stirring once. Yield: about 12 servings.

"I made it for my family gathering at Thanksgiving. I wasn't sure what the taste would be coming from a slow cooker but it was really good. I've been asked to bring the dressing for potluck Christmas dinner. I did add more bread near the end and will add more to start this time"
