Reviews for Slow-Cooked Beef Barley Soup
"Excellent soup and easy to make. Will put it in my very favorites cook book!"
"Soup was very good. Will make it the next time. But I will go easy on the spices. It was delicious with corn bread. Will spray the Crock pot with pam spray first to keep the ingredients from sticking to the sides."
"Good flavor in this easy to make soup. I added some frozen green beans and corn that I had on hand too."
"Really good on a cold winter's night! Love a great low-cal soup that has meat in it!"
"Easy! I ended up cooking on high for about 4 hours and then low for 3 and it turned out great. Served with garlic bread."
"Just to add to my last comment, this soup freezes beautifully. Wow! Yalk about comfort food - it's delicious."
"We loved this soup! Second day was even better. Will definitely make it again."
"Easy and delicious. Didn't have time to brown the diced beef, so I threw everything in all at the same time. Was rushed for time so I set crockpot on high for six hours and soup came out perfectly. Had quick cooking barley and added the last two hours in the crockpot."
"This was the best beef soup I have ever made. We loved it and will certainly make it again. It is a keeper!"
"Great and easy for a cold winter night. Did cut the spices in half. Made with venison."
"This was really good and simple. I left out the carrot and added more bell pepper (dislike carrots). Otherwise I made as listed. It was great served with thick sliced bread."
"This is my husband's new favorite soup. To accommodate the ingredients that I had on hand, I used pizza sauce instead of spaghetti sauce, frozen "veggies for soup" instead of the fresh veggies, and browned ground beef instead of the stew meat. Very yummy! I would like to try it with the stew meat sometime."
"Super Yummy!!! We are most of the soup the first day I made it...but the second day it was 10 times better!!!"
"This was great. I cooked mine in the crockpot all day."
"Smells great as it cooks tastes even better!"
"This soup was excellent and easy to make in the crock pot in the morning, my whole family loved this soup, a new favorite!"
"This is delicious and so easy!! Great for a cold night."
"My husband declared this soup better than his favorite soup at our favorite local restaurant!! Love that it's easy and made in the crock pot. The only substitution I made was a sweet red pepper for the green pepper. Great recipe!!"
