Seasoned Broccoli Spears for Two Recipe
- 2 cups frozen broccoli florets, thawed
- 1 teaspoon butter, melted
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/8 teaspoon onion salt
- 1/8 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
- Dash pepper
- 1. Place broccoli in a small microwave-safe bowl. Combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over broccoli; toss to coat. Cover and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes or until tender. Yield: 2 servings.
3/4 cup: 38 calories, 2g fat (1g saturated fat), 5mg cholesterol, 142mg sodium, 4g carbohydrate (1g sugars, 2g fiber), 2g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 1 starch.

"This was decent for a way to quickly spice up some plain broccoli. It wasn't my favorite and I doubt we'd make this again, but it was still tasty. I did steam fresh broccoli instead of using frozen and the microwave. I also used olive oil instead of butter."
