I don't always have time to fix the home-cooked meals my family loves, so I've come to rely on my slow cooker a lot. I fix these tangy chops at least once a week—the meat's so tender you can cut it with a fork—and we all love it! —Jennifer Ruberg, Two Harbors, Minnesota

"I really liked the sweet ketchup sauce but the chops seemed to get really dry in the slow cooker. I'd like to experiment with the sauce on other meats. I didn't use the Liquid Smoke."

"I made this recipe for Saucy pork Chops today. I halved the recipe using two pork chops. It was very easy to make, I cooked it on low for about 4-1/2 hours, and the pork chops were done and were very tender and tasty. I read other reviews suggesting adding onion, and I added dried minced onion, other than adding the onions and halving the recipe I prepared the recipe as directed. Very good. Thank you. This recipe is a keeper."

"Followed the recipe exactly and thought it was too ketchup-y for my taste."

"Like another reviewer, my Mom used to fix this years ago. I also added an onion, just sliced it over the top of the chops when I put them in the slow cooker and didn't use Liquid Smoke because I didn't have any. I used half Ketchup and half Heinz chili Sauce because that's what my Mom used to use and these were scrumptious, delicious, wonderful chops!! I live alone so I cooked the whole batch and froze 3 which I often do. Be sure to use bone-in thick pork chops."

"Thought these were quite tasty. I try to watch my sodium so I did skip the salt and instead used a little Mrs. Dash. Didn't have liquid smoke but put about a tsp of smoked paprika and it was delicious."

"My mother used to make this and I never got her recipe before she passed. This recipe sounded like it so I tried it. So glad to finally find it. The only thing that I changed was that she always included an onion. So I sliced a white onion and browned with the chops. Delicious!"

"Shirleysurly-the sodium content is not very unreasonable. Also, the amounts of ketchup and brown sugar can be adjusted by anyone with a modicum of common sense and imagination. As with a majority of recipes, this one can provide a base recipe upon which you can build if so desired. A decent barbecue-type sauce, and the chops were tender. The brown sugar helps to "mellow" the acidity of the ketchup (even though it already has sugar)."

"Way too much sodium and I imagine the sugar content is very high. Ketchup has alot of sugar in it and then you're adding brown sugar????"
