Raspberry Refresher Recipe
- 8 cups fresh or frozen raspberries, thawed
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup cider vinegar
- 2-1/2 cups cold water, divided
- 2 liters ginger ale, chilled
- 1. In a large saucepan, crush the berries. Stir in sugar, vinegar and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Strain to remove seeds; refrigerate. Just before serving, stir in ginger ale and remaining water. Serve over ice. Yield: 14 servings (about 3-1/2 quarts).

"The first time I made this I thought it had too strong of a vinegar taste also. The next time I made it I did less than half of the vinegar. We liked it this way much better but it still has a hint of the vinegar taste in it. Not sure what the vinegar is to do in here either but I think I will try and cut it back a bit more."
"I have a question about this one. Is the cider vinegar necessary? I made this drink and it has a very strong vinegar taste. I might try it again without any vinegar, replacing it with water. Any thoughts, anyone?"
