Quick Hamburger Gravy Recipe

This mild, creamy gravy will warm you up from the inside out! You'll be surprised at how quickly you can whip it up! Alcy Thorne Los Molinos, California
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 20 min. YIELD:14 servings


  • 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 cups milk
  • Baked potatoes


  • 1. In a Dutch oven, cook beef and onions over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the flour, bouillon, salt and pepper. Gradually add milk; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve over potatoes. Yield: 7 cups.

"I was looking for the 80's cafeteria hamburger gravy. This one is close. Mine wouldn't thicken so I added cornstarch...a tsp at a time and stirred like crazy. Kinda thought worseshire would add flavor. I was out so threw in a few splashes of liquid smoke. This was delicious! Will make again!!"
