Quick Green Beans with Bacon Recipe
- 4 bacon strips, diced
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 8 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1. In a large skillet, cook bacon and onion over medium heat until bacon is crisp and onion is tender.
- 2. Meanwhile, place beans in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 8-10 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain well. Add to bacon mixture. Sprinkle with salt and pepper; toss to coat. Yield: 8 servings.

We are from the south and have an old cookbook that my mom just gave me and it has a similar receipe. I make this everytime we cook green beans now. LOVE IT!!!!"
"Re.Green Beans with Bacon ---Vinegar added to this recipe makes a wonderfull taste. A bit of the bacon grease will cut the tartness of the vinegar so that it is not too sharp. My Mom was a very good cook - mostly German recipes - and it sort of trickled down to my cooking also. Enjoy ! ! !"
