 Quick French Salad Dressing
This simple dressing has served me for many years. Using this basic recipe, I can easily make simple variations, usually with ingredients I have on hand. As a result, I have always made my own salad dressings. -Carolyn Ozment, Gaylesville, Alabama

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Dash pepper
  • Salad greens


  • In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the oil, vinegar, salt,
  • garlic and pepper; shake well. Serve over salad greens. Yield: about
  • 1/3 cup.
