Unlike some coleslaws that need to be refrigerated awhile to blend flavors, this version can be served right away with mouthwatering results!—Linda Young, Longmont, Colorado
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 10 min. YIELD:4 servings


  • 3 cups chopped cabbage
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 medium carrot, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


  • 1. In a medium bowl, combine cabbage, onions and carrot. Combine remaining ingredients; stir into vegetables. Chill until ready to serve. Yield: 4 servings.

"This is my new 'go-to' coleslaw recipe. I used a bag of shredded cabbage that already had carrots and onions in it. Can't seem to find celery 'seed' so I used celery 'salt'. My guests loved it."

"Just made it for a last minute barbeque and happened to have all the ingredients on hand. It is easy and tasty although I was concerned about the lack of liquid in the dressing. Seems to be fine. It is chilling now which will probably make it better."
