Kids will need only three ingredients to whip up this bright beverage shared by Renee Schwebach of Dumont, Minnesota. The sweet blend gets its purple color and refreshing flavor from grape juice concentrate.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup thawed grape juice concentrate
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream

1 serving (1 cup) equals 286 calories, 10 g fat (6 g saturated fat), 41 mg cholesterol, 101 mg sodium, 44 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, 6 g protein.

Directions

  1. In a blender, combine milk and grape juice concentrate. Add ice cream; cover and blend until smooth. Serve immediately. Yield: 4 servings.

My kids love the vibrant purple color and grape shake taste. It's a fun treat. We plan to try other juices, as well.
