"I doubled the recipe and added 2lbs of maple sausage to make it a little more hearty. I also added a small can of diced chili's for some kick to counterbalance the sweetness of the brown sugar. Best baked beans I've ever made! Can't wait to take them to our potluck dinner tonight :)"

"I have used this recipe since 1969. The only difference is I only use Campbells Pork & Beans and add a tablespoon of yellow mustard and cook in crock pot (in oven, not electric) for 40 minutes at 375 deg."

"I love this. When I bake the beans I always put 4 or 5 slices of bacon on top to cook with the beans, I also add a bit of maple syrup or molasses to the mixture and then drizzle a little on top - over the beans and bacon"

"I don't like the fact that everything I canned. I'm sure it'll taste just fine, but it has not one or two canned ingredients, but THREE. Not healthy, specially when you guys live in America and have all those amazing ingredients right at your corner. Start eating better, people."

"It's a very good recipe and it was enjoyed by all but, to me it's just not a real baked bean dish when you have to start out with canned beans and it's really hard to find a recipe where you start from scratch with dried beans."
