Pecan Pie Squares Recipe

  • 3 eggs
  • 2-1/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


  • 1. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add brown sugar. Stir in flour until smooth. Add the pecans and vanilla (dough will be stiff).
  • 2. Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 300° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Yield: 2 dozen.
Editor's Note: As a substitute for each cup of self-rising flour, place 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a measuring cup. Add all-purpose flour to measure 1 cup.
