Reviews for Oatmeal Brownies
"This is a big hit at our local volunteer fire department! After the first batch, it was immediately requested again. Now, I make two batches. However, I make two trays of brownies and only use one batch of oat topping and sprinkle over the top of the two trays. Elimating the bottom layer. Quick, easy and upgrades brownies to a new level of crunch. It is a winner!"
"I made these for company and everyone loved them."
"I liked the ease of the recipe by using a boxed brownie mix. Next time I think I will try putting all the oat mixture on the bottom- as I would have liked that layer thicker."
"Delicious and easy! I used dark chocolate M&M's and did not add nuts as these were for a church dinner. Will make them again."
"These were real easy to make . Everyone from 7 yrs old kids to my 93 yr old father in law loved them"
"These were moist and delicious. Served for desert with friends. They were a hit!"
"These were Great. I used a regular sized cake pan and regular M&M's and they turned out really good. I will make these again!"
"I made this recipe, but shortened steps. I made the brownie recipe and put all the the oatmeal, nut, brown sugar mixture all on the top. I didn't have the M - Ms. They still turned out delicious. I will probably make them that way again. I'm all for easy.Ginger Murrieta, Ca"
"Made these on Tuesday while snowed in and they turned out great! Left out the nuts and got many compliments on how good they are when I brought them into work today. They are disappearing quickly and I will definitely make these again since they are a hit at home and at the office! Thanks!"
"Made these, used chocolate chips instead of M&Ms and used old-fashioned oats instead of quick. Everybody loved them. The only thing I did different was I had to bake them 30 minutes longer! And even after 30 minutes extra baking time, they are still kind of gummy in the middle - but nobody is complaining cause they are very good."
"Made these for kids during snowstorm. Didn't have any m&ms so used peanut butter chips. Came out awrsome"
"I would definitely use a smaller pan than called for in the recipe. There was barely enough on the bottom layer to cover the pan. Other than that, these taste great!"
"60 Servings can't be correct. I'd like to see the nutritional information with an accurate serving count. Sounds like a great low carb treat but the numbers may be skewed. I haven't made them yet thus the low rating."
"You are right...awesome!!! I used chocolate chips and a 9x13 pan...."
"These brownies are awesome. I didn't have M&Ms but used semi-sweet chocolate morsels and they are delicious, very addicting!!!"
"WAY TOO GOOD THESE WERE SURPRISELY EASY AND DELICIOUS... JUST ENOUGH CRISPINESS WITH THE OATMEAL MIXTURE. ESPECIALLY WONDERFUL WHEN YOU HEAT UP JUST A TOUCH AND TOP WITH WHIPPED CREAM OR ICE CREAM AND HOT FUDGE. I DID NOT HAVE M&M'S SO USED WHITE CHOC CHIPS AND USED WHOLE WHEAT PASTRY FLOUR AND REGULAR OATMEAL AND TURNED OUT GREAT. THIS ONE IS A KEEPER. PAT"
"I have not made this as yet, but n grandson will be conning to se me this sunday and I can here him now saying granpa you made me this. he loves oatmeal and he loves brownies. he will LOV them. thanks a bunch. scotty."
"Great brownies. You can easily play around with the add-ins. My kids love the mini M&M's but I have made them with white chocolate chips too. The only thing I omit are the nuts but that is only because I do not like nuts in my brownies. You will definitely want to give these a try."
"What a phenomenal way to kick up an average box of brownies! These were a hit. I just used chocolate chips, too."
"These were great. I used chocolate chips and made in a 13"x9"pan. I baked them about 10 or 15 min. longer and they were moist and tender."
"does this recipe really make a 15x10 pan? I tried and there wasn't enough dough to go in the bottom of the pan. What did I do wrong?"
"I have made this recipe 4 times, varying it each time w/ what I had on hand--everytime it was a HUGE hit at work. Found the min m n ms in candy aisle at Walmart (two cups per bag @ $2.50 bag) after using small containers from candy aisle first time. Substituted cinnamon chips for a Mexican brownie one time and did mini chips/coconut (instead of walnuts) another time. ALL recipes were HUGE hits at work. My husband made a template on parchment paper so I can cut this into 60 equal peices--once I cut them into 120 peices to "go further" for larger crowd. This will be a keeper in my recipe file."
"LOVE these brownies!! I found the M&M's Minis in the candy isle, not the baking isle (for those who couldn't find them)."
"This was described as "heavenly" by the friend I gave these to on Valentine's Day. I used regular-sized chocolate chips instead of the M&M pieces. Substituted 1/2 of the oil called for by the brownie mix with applesauce; less fat and more moist. The pan didn't last long at our house. Will be making these again!"
"This recipe was great!!! I used the mini-choco chips and heath chips instead of the M&M's and also used the rice krispies instead of the nuts. They turned out so GOOD and moist! I also used 3 eggs in the brownie mix instead of 2. You have to try this recipe. if you like brownies!"
"I couldn't find the M&M's baking bits so I used chocolate chips and they are DELICIOUS!!! I NEVER would have thought of this combination, but it is SOOO good and will definitely make again. Thank you for this recipe!!"
"I needed a quick recipe for a treat for 2nd graders whom I volunteer weekly. I found it here. WOW. It comes together quickly & tastes great! The kids loved it & some asked for the recipe! I added a few things:I used your suggestion to change the nuts to crispy rice cereal wonderful.I used 1c. mini choc chips + 3/4c.choc. toffee chips. I will be making this again for sure. Thanks foe submitting."
