- 4 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 cups chopped walnuts
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup orange marmalade
- In a large bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar and salt. Stir in remaining ingredients. Press into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 425° for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Yield: about 2-1/2 dozen.

"I added 1/2 cup wheat germ and reduced the coconut by 1/2 cup. I also added a 1/4 cup milk, and used some apricot preserves I had. I used brown sugar Splenda instead of brown sugar. Next time I will use a smaller pan and layered the batter, then the jam, then the batter again. Good breakfast."
"I make this recipe often - can add sunflower seeds, wheat germ, dried cranberries, etc. to add nutritional value. Tried different flavor marmalades and jams - orange marmalade was by far the best and many jams didn't really work. Watch the baking time close - they get crispy fast. The crumbles are great for yogurt toppers (think McDonald's yogurt parfaits)."
