No-Cook Herbed Tomato Sauce Recipe
- 5 medium tomatoes (about 1-1/2 pounds), chopped
- 1/4 cup snipped fresh basil
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hot cooked pasta
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- 1. In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, basil, onions, garlic, oil, salt and pepper. Let stand at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with pasta. Sprinkle with cheese. Yield: 3 cups.

"Not sure why the stars aren't showing on this recipe but count mine 5 stars. I thought it was easy and very versatile. I fixed it just as is except for a few drops of hot sauce. That is saying a lot for a recipe for me as I am usually such an experimenter. Great dish. Really fine for any season because I am sure it would have been fine with canned diced tomatoes. Except, you would have to use the no-salt added type to keep the sodium level the same."
